Malindo Air is opening a Sydney-Denpasar flight route with the inaugural flight taking place on August 15. According to the Deputy Assistant for Marketing Development of the Ministry of Tourism, Adella Raung, Malindo will serve daily flights.

“Bali has always been an attraction for tourists and the tourism industry. The number of tourists visiting, is the reason many airlines open routes with the Balinese axis. Including Malindo Air. The airline is ready to compete, with Malindo opening regular flights starting August 15, 2019,” Adella said, quoted by detik.com on Monday (12/08/2019).

To serve the Sydney-Denpasar route, Malindo will use a Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft. With 12 Business class seats and 168 Economy class seats. Malindo will provide an additional 23,472 seats and passengers (full capacity) until the end of 2019.

Flights from Sydney to Denpasar will be served with flight number OD172. The plane will depart from Sydney at 12noon local time and will arrive at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Denpasar around 4.50pm.

Meanwhile, flights from Denpasar to Sydney will be served with flight number OD171. From I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, the plane will depart at 10.35 pm and arrive in Sydney at around 6.40am.

According to the Deputy of Marketing Development I of the Ministry of Tourism, Rizki Handayani, the opening of this new route is a form of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) and Malindo Air.

“This year is the second year Kemenpar has collaborated with Malindo Airlines. This collaboration is carried out in the form of a joint promotion. This inaugural flight activity is one of a series of joint promotion activities,” said Rizki.
